A fire at Skyline Chili restaurant on Bardes Road was quickly brought under control on Saturday morning by Deerfield Township Fire Rescue and the Deerfield Township Post of the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Crews responded to a mulch fire that had spread to the front southeast corner of the restaurant. The initial mulch fire was substantially extinguished due to the quick action of a Warren County Sheriff's Office Deerfield Post deputy who arrived on scene.
Firefighter crews were able to fully extinguish the mulch fire, and contain the structure fire. A preliminary damage estimate is $3,000. The primary damage was to the façade, one interior corner and limited electric circuitry.
